DOTARS is a Government organisation and is committed to continue transport reform and innovations to improve transport efficiency, productivity, safety and environmental performance. NRMA CarWise have engaged DOTARS for their specific responsibility for monitoring the effectiveness of vehicle safety recalls, and ensuring automotive manufacturers + distributors comply with their obligations under the Trade Practices Act.
REVS: The NSW Office of Fair Trading Register of Encumbered Vehicles
REVS is a service provided by the NSW Office of Fair Trading which can tell you if a vehicle you are thinking of buying is carrying a debt. REVS was established in 1986 by the Registration of Interests in Goods Act 1986 (RIGA). It is a legal public register which assists the general public, the finance sector and the motor trade. The register holds information about vehicles that have been used as security for a loan from a bank, finance company, credit union or other credit provider. REVS also provides information on whether a vehicle has been reported as stolen, and for vehicles registered in NSW, whether or not the vehicle has been recorded as a write-off.
